Fall and Halloween are fast approaching and we know what that means . . . pumpkin spice season! Whether if it’s for falling asleep, watching Netflix on the couch, or waking up in the morning tea is just all around a great beverage.

So what exactly is this spice known as pumpkin? For some it’s a recipe that can never be duplicated in the kitchen (it’s hard to make it like Starbucks). For others it’s a spice best utilized in candles and body perfumes. But it is possible to recreate.

According to Allrecipes pumpkin spice is simply a mixture of:

  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Ginger
  • Cloves

Making pumpkin spice tea is very simple and straightforward. Here are the ingredients that you’ll need:

  • 1 small pumpkin (or part of the insides of one you’ve already carved)
  • 0.5 teaspoon of pumpkin spice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • .5 drop of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon of Chai tea leaves
  • 50 ml of water boiling

Make the pumpkin puree by taking the small pumpkin and cutting out the inner flesh. Boil it for 30 minutes until soft, then mash into a puree.

Boil the water and then steep with the tea leaves or bag for around 10 minutes. While this is happening add the puree and spice to a small saucepan and mix together.

Add the milk, honey, vanilla, and pumpkin mix to the tea and mix. Then enjoy your pumpkin spice tea! If you’re drinking this in the morning, be sure to pair it with our vitamin recommendations that will help you sleep later that night.
